Hi there.

I have a Wiko Android Phone running
Android OS 9

I can't seem to get the Default Launcher(in my case right now, Microsoft) to save as
the default launcher.

I have done numerous searches on google about this and can't seem to figure it out?

Any suggestions to try and fix this ?

Welcome to Android Central! Go to the system settings and search for Home. Select the menu option for Default Home App -- is it set there? Or are you setting it there, but it keeps on changing back to the stock launcher?

Hello, thanks for the response.

I go to the settings, default apps and set the home app (which says it's Microsoft Launcher), I tried doing a search from system settings
for Home and did not come up with anything.

So I went to the apps and notifications then to Default Apps and
set the home app there.

So yes it keeps not saving. Maybe I should try and uninstall and re install Microsoft Launcher?

Also on other forums, I have seen a possible cause of the Default Home app not saving is other
apps that are installed?

I've seen it mentioned a few times before that some phones make it hard to keep a 3rd party launcher as the default -- not sure if that's a bug or if it's annoyingly done on purpose.

Try this:

1. Go to Settings>Apps, then tap Menu>Reset All App Preferences (the location of this option might vary depending on the phone).
2. Now tap your Home button. Does it ask you to choose a launcher? If so, select Microsoft Launcher, and tap Always (and not Just This Time).

Does the same thing happen?

Hmm, yes sounds like I will need to try that or just deal with having to select the launcher again. I have
had this phone for more than a few years now and this is the first I have run into this problem. Though this was after
factory resetting the phone because of other problems with Android!

Will try your suggestion. Thanks!

then let you know
