Still weeks away from my ship date. I'd really like to get the S22U with a big camera upgrade but the law of physics tells me to cancel. I'm currently close to 800GB of 1.5TB capacity in My N2U. Plenty of storage. But it will be cutting it close if I get the S22U with only 1TB. I could make it work. Problem isn't that I go over 1TB by next year's upgrade. It's that next year's phone will most likely be 1TB too. 1TB isnt enough in 2023.

Anybody else using a lot of local storage?

I've got over 6Tb of data on my desktop, total of 8Tb available, my phones don't even hit 64Gb of usage. Lol

Have had mine since launch. Note 20U 128Gb.

I have 237 gigs used up on my 512. Over 100 of those gigs are movies I have downloaded. I only have them downloaded because I can. I have a friend that uses a lot of space also, I think he lives on his phone.

As you waiting for your phone, my suggestion is to cancel the order. You still have the SD card that you use yet. If you're happy with the N2U, there isn't much difference, just the camera which is what you're after.

So you have one question. How bad do you want the camera upgrade? I don't think the SD card is coming back so you're eventually going to have to do something, but you could hold off awhile.

Maybe find a good note 20U, new if possible and not have to do anything for long time and keep the SD card?

I agree cancel the order. I'm surprised you ordered a phone. As for the actual question, I have always used local storage called a laptop. However, plenty of other more portable options.

And agree that SD cards on phones went the way of the Ni-Cd battery; be that right or wrong, it is a fact.

It's all fun and games keeping that much stuff on your device until the screen cracks or it's lost. Not having backups and not moving things to other storage accounts for a good percentage of questions posted to the forums. They usually start off, help please...

I was able to really go down on some space by reducing the amount that was on my SD Card and deciding what to transfer over. Do you really need everything??? I kept all my pictures and have them separated by albums, from the s6 edge to now. (s6 edge camera, note 8 camera, etc.) And I went through each folder deleting stuff I didn't need and probably will never look at again. I decided with I live in an area with a good signal so I really don't need to download music. I can stream it. Unless I'm traveling then downloading will be necessary. Until then, it's not. I think I'm at 342 GB / 512 GB.

Thats what I mean.. And I bought a USB C flash drive and transferred everything there as a backup. Otherwise it will create a lot of space. 700+ GB is a whole lot and you'd have to get rid of a lot to keep it all under 512 GB.
