Might be a dumb question-buying at a store other than Sprint...

Hey all,

Really looking forward to ditching my Palm Pre for the EVO 3D whenever it gets released. I've always bought my phones at the Sprint store (for about 8 years now!). I'm wondering if I go to Radio Shack or Best Buy to pick up the new phone, will there be any problems getting it going with my same plan/contract? I understand that I need to a new contract for this phone-no problem.

Just wondering if there are any advantages/disadvantages to getting it elsewhere. When I got my Pre, I had to get in line at 6am in order to get it launch day. 5 people after me in line missed out. I just wanna make sure I get a phone when they are first out!

Thanks

Jeff

No real difference except instant rebate (If Sprints instant rebate offer expires). BB and RS have access to Sprints system and your plan and they know your upgrade eligibility.

There may be some limitations at non-Sprint stores but my last 3 phones were from BB and the service was great.

Never, ever buy a phone from Sprint. Just go to BB or RS, the deal is exactly the same and you get all the rebates instantly instead of mail in. You get the price on a new line or if you are upgrade eligible. Both BB and RS are preselling the 3D, just go in and ask. You buy a $50 gift card and they reserver one for you. It's the only way to be sure you get one on release day. If this is as popular as the original Evo, it will be the only way to get one on release day.

I'm on a EPRP plan and am eligible for my 2-year upgrade.
I was at a BB and asked the rep to see if I could get the Evo 3D there, they couldn't fully access my account.
Does that mean I'm forced to go to a Sprint corp or 3rd party store?

My wife and I are original Pre owners and we'll be dumping ours as soon as the Evo 3D comes out. We'll be getting them at Best Buy!

I was at BB yesterday and since I am switching to sprint from another carrier I am entitled to the $125 credit. Best Buy can not honor this promotion from sprint. The best they told me was that since they have a $50 off any phone promo they can give me $75 in phone accessories, seeing that I am activating two phones on new contracts, $150 in comp'd accessories seems like a lot of stick on phone jewels.

I've been getting my phones through Sprint in the past, and getting the cost put on my phone bill, timing it so I can use the rebate(s) to help pay for the bill. Can I get BB or da'Shack to do the same, or do I have to pay up front? Thanks!

You have to pay up front
