I've been rocking my S10+ since launch last year, and it looks like I'll be migrating up to an S20+ this week.

I know it'll be an easy migration, but if anyone has any specific thoughts on that, I'd like to hear them. Thanks.

I went from s10+ to s20+. No real difference in terms of OS. Everything feels the same. Just in a different phone body.
Plugged both usb C into old phone and new phone, seamless transfer of data from old phone to new. If didn't shatter my screen on my s10+, i would never purchased the new s20+... Both unit feels the same. Doesn't feel much of an upgrade in terms of device.

I first used the s10 5gUW from vzw... Hated it. Didn't know it doesn't have expandable storage... But other Carriers offers the s20 with it... So I returned the regular to the +... ergonomic form factor is the same coming from the s10+ to s20+. Battery life is worse than the s10+. Not sure if it's because of 5G? Old phone can last 2 days. S20+ barely lasts 24 hrs....

thanks for the tip on battery life. I fully predicted that before the unit launched. The additional 5G chip takes power, after all. At least the form factor isn't any different.

Like you, I wasn't planning on moving on. But, circumstances intervened. Maybe the T-Mobile 5G service will make up for it.

I'm not an iPhone guy, but that new one is catching my eye. My daughter--she's on Cricket Wireless--moved from a 4 year old iPhone SE to the new iPhone 12 Mini, and Cricket/AT&T's 5G service is screaming on that little thing.

Are you using the 120 refresh rate?

the only turely annoying thing is if you have and interested like i do of ordering custom cases you have made from venders in china so your phone has some personal touch. the camera bump will drive you crazy.

the s10+ lay out on the back is much much more forgiving you can just move most images down to use the space under the cameras.

ALSO UPDATE AS SOON AS YOU GET IT TO ETHER THE MOST UPDATED 10 VERSION OR 11 IF ITS THERE. the cams have some problems but not sure if its only the ultra like mine because samsung was ******* dumb and used there 108 cam and not just a very good like 64mp from sony

5g is great but its not really fully flushed out yet. if you want 5g wait till next year so the 5g tech is better. But ya the 5g i want is mil wave. but sub 6 is really fast but when i think fast i am thinking Gigbit per second. Not caping under Gigbit

In terms of the bat. Its the chip and the size. example my s20 ultlra 5g (I do not use 5g do not have it on my plan cuss mill wave is not wide spread yet.)

I can get 2 days on a charge but thats also year 1 start of year 2 i know that wont hold up as we go on. In that case you find a back up phone you have laying around back your phone up and clear it then just mail it to samsung for what ever the bat replacement cost is.

Its not worth letting a 3rd party work on it. I rather 3rd party but i want factory water seal and samsung and apple ect are the only ones who can truely give you that.

honestly why i never got my old phone fixed the water seal means more to me.

the one thing i will comment on is that samsung needs to jump on the train with the china companys and get there **** in gear with 65 watt and 120 watt chargeing.

I want to charge my phone in 6 mins. that is so much more useful for daily life really 50% for a full charge with 25 watts still feels like i am waiting for my phone to charge

According to my battery stats, 2h30 SOT from full charge. I have 13h 43 min left on the battery. 76% left.

I got mine today, and I used Samsung Switch on my Mac instead of connecting the phones directly, but yeah, my experience pretty much mirrors yours 100%. Just holding and using it, I don't know that it's a different phone.

I did just this moment notice that the face unlock is faster, and for some reason doesn't require that I double tap or hit the power button first to turn on the screen--all I have to do is pick up the phone and look at it, and I'm at the home screen. Was that an option on my 10+? I don't remember.

Biggest difference will be display size. If you like smaller devices, I'd suggest the regular s20 over the plus.

The pickup to wake was set for you by default or did you enable it? I think the S10+ had it also but I can't recall for sure because I might not have enabled it.

Pickup to wake must have been a default, because I didn't set anything like that.

Sure enough, it was turned off on my S10+.

I came from s9+ to the S20+. I am very happy with the S20+. Once I used the 120 hz screen, I was hooked. The camera's are marginally better, and 5G is ok, but not quite there yet. I found my battery to be poor at first, but it really seems to be getting a lot better after a few weeks of usage.

I have to say IMPO. I wish I'd kept the S10+. I'd watched all of the reviews about the S20 not being much of an upgrade from the S10 and didn't really want it but ended up in a situation where I needed to replace one of the devices on my plan.

Anyway the S10 was a better point and shoot. The S20, IDK if it is trying to capture too much detail or what but I take mostly close up pics for work and a lot of times I loose or fail to capture the detail I need. I know size is trending but even though it's only marginally bigger it barely fits in my pocket in comparison. I hate the constant unlocking. Like literally I unlock this device 3 or 4 times more than I ever did my S10. I've set Smart Lock and all of that but even when connected to a known device or in a trusted place I still have to unlock it. I mean isn't that the point of setting that option? Evidently not with the S20. Really the only positive thing I have to say about the 20 over the 10 is battery. I got good battery life out of my S10 but it's a huge and noticeable difference between the two, based on my usage. Oh and the speakers are louder. Very noticeably. Again IMO. Aside from those two things I'm really missing the advantage of upgrading to this device. Oh and I miss Bixby Alarm sound. I don't use Bixby but in your alarms you could set some Bixby alarm sound and it would give you several headlines, the time and weather then play music. All I can find on the 20 is read the time out loud.

The screen seems unresponsive to touches. Again the S10 was better. Yeah it didn't have 120Hz but it knew when you touched it. I want to say this is due to the touch response speed. That was one of the claims with the 20 was it's fast recognition of touch. I think it is responding so fast the slightest movement and it registers as a swipe instead of a tap.

Then there's connection speed. Sure it has great benchmarks but I don't live for benchmarks. I live in the real world where I need to connect to the internet and I have connection issues even on WiFi. Really? I have never waited so long for so little even on much older devices. Literally I see the loading circle almost as much as I see the fingerprint to unlock. My games take longer to load, web pages take longer, most of my apps that have to update to open. I've literally given up on apps because it has taken that long to connect. My POD cast app has refused play episodes because of the connection. That has never happened or so rarely that I don't remember.

I really hate the unlocking. Literally there is no end to it.

I'm no fan of the S-Pen and really have never wanted one or cared that much about it but I'll probably trade this in on whatever they release next.

Yeah I got to concur, I wish I would have kept my S10 plus. Battery does seem a little worse in the s20 plus but maybe because it's only two days old and hasn't settled. The phone speakers are worse, a lot worse and sound distorted. I had to turn off dolby atmos to make it sound better. I've had a couple 5G areas and I haven't really noticed a speed difference on my phone, it is a phone so once you're over 100 down I don't think it's going to make a difference. My S10+ got great 4G speeds and so does the S20 plus. I'm going to stay positive and hope the battery life settles and is as good or better than my S10.
If you're asking why I purchased it, Best buy currently has a great deal. $450 instant off (not bill credits).
