Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is the appropriate forum, but this is where I usually lurk and post! I have root, using CM nightlies with a MikFroyo backup, and no dedicated APP2sd partition. I'm getting a 32gb microSD to be a new, permanent card. I want to copy my stock 8gb card's contents to the new one.

I'm thinking there's two obvious ways to do it, one is to put it into a SD card adapter, pop it in my netbook, mass copy with hidden folders available to the netbook, and copy it to the new card.

The other idea I have is to use UltraISO to burn an .iso image of the 8gb card's contents, then image burn that .iso to the new 32gb card.

Which way would better, or would it not matter at all? Or is there another way I'm not aware of? I'm more worried about things like encrypted apps and root stuff not normally accessible. I have no problem with the methods or carrying it out, I just want to clone the contents exactly. Any input is appreciated!

I've copied the contents of my old 8GB card to a new 16GB card using a card reader on my Windows PC with zero issues--Windows' copy and paste functionality seems to move everything over just fine as far as I can tell.

Aha, glad to hear that! It's nice when the easiest solution works perfectly. :) Thanks for your input!

I just switched to my first rom. how do i get my new rom to find the apps on my sdcard. i can see them with file exploreer but how do i get them back in the app list. I also went to the market for poweramp...one i purchased, it said purchased so i redownloaded and its still not in the list, how do i get it recognized by the new rom. there are about 20 apps on the sdcard.

i just did that today. i took my old card out copied the contents to my laptop but the new card in my laptop and copied everything over. put it in my phone and it wouldnt boot. tried it with the card in and out phone just wouldnt turn on. turns out i had to go into recovery and format the dalvik cache and cache partition. then it worked fine. just and fyi

Ooh, that's good to know. That's not too bad a price to pay for the upgrade. I'll drop you a thanks soon!

I saw some of the apps and were able to reinstall them, I clicked on the app, went to app manager, and reinstalled.
