Hi,
I have used a computer for the first time in 1975; it had ferromagnetic tores RAM and was programmed with paper punched cards.
Since then, I have used different kinds of computers:
- mainframes,
- Digital VAX and Micro Vax computers with VMS,
- Apple ][ with DOS 3.3, Prodos, CPC,
- PCs with MS-DOS, GEM, all Windows versions from version 2.0, various Linux versions (Knoppix, Ubuntu, Linux Mint),
- Apple Macs with all macOS versions from Leopard,
- Apple iPhones with all iOS versions from 11.
I used to program, for technical and scientific purposes, in FORTRAN, COBOL, and various interpreted or compiled BASICs; I stopped programming when I discovered Mathcad (calculation and graphing); I still use Mathcad, Smath Desktop (a kind of free clone of Mathcad), Minitab (statistics) and TableCurve (curve-fitting) software.
My computer runs now on Linux Mint, and my smartphone is an Oukitel WP39 with Android 14.
I am a retired engineer, interested in cybersecurity, privacy and anonymity.
Regards,
MN
