I was able to get early access to Minecraft Earth (not sure why, but I guess it means not everyone will have access yet?), and have been tinkering with it. Just curious if anyone else here plays. Better yet, can anyone make heads or tails of it?
It's using AR similar to Pokemon Go, where you move about the real world to find chests, animals, etc to collect. There's also adventures (their name for it, but really just a bit of mining and mobs that don't take long) where you can collect more stuff. You can then use the stuff you collected to craft more collectable stuff. To be blunt, it sounds like a more accurate title would be "Hoarding: The Game."
There doesn't seem to be much purpose behind the game, and no end game that I can discern. Maybe I'm missing something, but even their app description doesn't offer much detail. In either case, it's free, so it's not like I'm losing anything to try it.
