Minimum brightness inconsistent?

i saw a curioius thing and i want to know if it is normal: in a dark room the auto brightness is at minimum of course, but if i turn on the screen when it is locked, so the brightness is at max for a few seconds before to return at minimum again. is it normal?

Yes, that's normal. happens to me, too.

It happens to me as well, but I don't think is normal. It burns my eyes and it doesn't happen with my Note 5 or S8+.

I think when u open when locked it goes bright for facial unlock ...you can try experiment and disable face unlock and try see if it does the same thing
