So every morning when I go to turn on my Nexus 7 it sometimes has difficulty turning on the first time I attempt to power it up. Why does it have to do this and make me nervous??

Thanks.

I press the power button and count "one thousand one" and it pops on....every time...

By difficulty I mean that I'll press n hold the button, let go, and it doesn't boot up. Multiple times.

^ that happens to me a few times when I run the battery dry and then charge--it usually works when I press one of the volume buttons simultaneously with the power button, and hold until it powers on. It naturally takes longer to power on than to wake up, you're holding down the button longer than a few seconds right?

I never run my battery lower than 60%. I will have to try the volume+power button thing. I typically hold the power button for over 30 seconds now because that's what seems to work ><

Yup its a PITA, I have to do the same thing (hold the power button) all the time.

why do you boot up every morning? do you switch off the Nexus every night or is your battery out by morning?

I turn it off every night and let it charge all night...

I dont think its a good practice to do this. your battery might die soon.

tablet are meant to be ON all the time and it is build for it. just let it discharge till it reaches <15% or even make it die on it own once in month or something.
That way it will calibrate the battery and will give you long life.

sorry, but I disagree with still1. There is no good reason to let the battery drop all the way down to under 15%. absolutely none.

For real? I would think that turning it off each night would preserve the battery in the long run.

Are you sure about letting the battery run down is good too? I I've heard that that would have the OPPOSITE effect hat you just mentioned...

Any expert in these forums that can address the battery issue? I'd like to know how to get the most of the battery, and have it last a long time. So far what I've read here are just differing opinions. Would like to know the facts about using and caring for the battery. Thanks.
