It is official, the Minuum keyboard beta begins tomorrow! If you are not a huge fan of the stock keyboard or Swiftkey or Swype, then you may be interested in the Minuum keyboard. I am stoked and hope it ends up becoming widely adopted.

I will post some screenshots and a quick review of how well it works tomorrow after I download it.

Can't wait!

Looks very interesting indeed. Would be great if it works well because even on a large high res screen like the DNA I often feel the keyboard takes up too much real estate.

I remember when I saw this on reedit. I'm a skeptic and don't think it'll catch on haha

Yeah, that has always been a big annoyance on the DNA. I currently use swiftkey and have the keyboard set to the smallest size, but it is still taking up too much of the screen. The iPhone keyboard, which I had for two years, is way smaller than the smallest swiftkey keyboard on the DNA and I could type just fine on the iPhone keyboard.

Hopefully this keyboard works out.

Yeah, I think there are a lot of skeptics. I believe that Google may look into it for integration into their Glass program. This keyboard could actually fit fine on the frame of the glasses.

Nonetheless, we won't know how good it really is until we try it. I plan to try it as soon as I get the email letting me know I can download it. I am hoping it is good and that I did not get all worked up for nothing.

I would like to try this. Looking forward to hearing how it works for you.

Even though I'm skeptical of this I was just as skeptical of swiping across your on screen keyboard to type but now I wouldn't type any other way.

Finally got my download invitation and installed the keyboard. It is really cool. I highly recommend that you download the beta when you get the chance.

It definitely takes some getting used to because you are typing on a straight line.

The biggest thing that I am missing is the really crass dictionary I had in my swiftkey. I tend to have a potty mouth sometimes.

I can't find the ability to use it that much.. Yeah the concept is cool and all but it will take a long time to get use to and it's pointless for me at this moment. I'll still try to use it but it won't replace swiftkey. Imho

I'm excited because it reminds me of the old "T9" typing style, or whatever it was called. I have never typed faster than I did on a "T9" format once I grew used to it.

I'm still waiting for it too.

It has been a couple of days and I am still digging the keyboard. The biggest suggestion that we have all placed on the Minuum support website is the ability to expand the keyboard to a full size when you are inputing web addresses and passwords and e-mail addresses.

I do think this is great technology and I think google should snap them up and put it on the side of their google glasses.

It is truly a pleasure to use the keyboard. It looks cool when you are using it and it is a hell of a lot of fun.

I like the key board. It takes a little bit to get use to. the only thing I wish you could do is shut off auto correct in the text box. I start typing one word and it spells another

Yeah, I have learned not to worry about the auto correct suggestions until I am done typing the word. It will give you half a dozen suggestions over the course of a 7 or 8 letter word, but until you punch in that last letter, it probably won't predict the right word because you are hitting several letters at the same time, so it won't know what you are typing until you get the last letter in there. Since it is such s quick keyboard to type on, I have been fine with it.

Also, for everyone that has not signed up for the beta, I have heard there is an .apk of it floating around on the net. Make sure you watch their how to video on youtube, otherwise how the keyboard works may confuse you. The how to video explains all of the gestures you use to make the keyboard as quick as possible.

Finally, remember, this is a beta. The minuum creators are taking tons of suggestions. The biggest one is permitting the keyboard to expand to full size when inputting emails, passwords, and web addresses. We hope to see that in the next build or update.

Bummed I haven't gotten an invite yet. Signed up the day before release so I guess I'll have to wait in line or something. Downloaded an apk on the net to give it a try though. Hope I get an official invite soon for it though.
