What are some miracast dongles that will work with the g4? I do not have internet, so it cant require wifi.

The G4 has Miracast built in. Does your TV support Miracast or Screen Mirroring? What type of TV and DVD/Blu-ray player do you have?

I think he was asking for the dongle that connected to the TV for the G4 to cast to. I know Chromecast works, but I think it does require a WiFi network. You may not internet though if you just want the G4 cast to TV feature, but I think you do need the WiFi network. If you have a 2nd phone that could setup as a WiFi hotspot, it could work.

In ServinD1991's other post, he mentions wanting to mirror his G4 to his Sony BR player without WiFi, but would it be possible to make the G4 a Hotspot as you suggested, and connect his BR player directly to it via WiFi from the G4's hotspot?

I think the other thread was started by a different person? Viet_Vet? Turning on the G4 hotspot is not going to help anything with the Sony BR player's miracast.

I only mentioned WiFi hotspot in this thread because I know that Chromecast dongle will work with the G4's miracast. But to setup chromecast, it needs to connect to a WiFi network. It is not as direct as a normal miracast dongle. I think normal miracast dongle is not that expensive but I don't know which one will work with G4. They all use some kind of direct-wifi to connect but it is a matter or standard and protocol....

I would guess the BR player has onboard WiFi? Wouldn't it be easier to just make the phone a WiFi Hotspot and connect that way, and not have to buy a Miracast dongle? I use my G4 as a WiFi Hotspot for my iPad on occasion

Hmmm, the miracast dongle is not to provide internet connection to the BR. It is to use to mirror the G4's screen onto the TV according to the post. Both threads (this one and the Sony BR player one) are to mirror the G4's screen to TV.

I guess if he only watched to watch Netflix on TV and the Sony BR player has the Netflix app, then yeah, he could just use the G4 as wifi hotspot provider to the BR player.

My bad...I made the assumption that he just wanted access to the Internet to stream movies rather than any content on the phone.
