From what I have read the S3 supports Miracast. I have an Android TV box that supports Miracast. My Windows 10 Laptop can successfully screen mirror to the Miracast on TV box device so it obviously works. When I try to do Screen Mirroring from the S3, the phone finds the TV box Miracast, says it is Connecting to Wireless Display Device, then Connected to the S3 but a moment later, I get an error on the S3,
'Failed to connect via Screen Mirroring".
Windows 10 Anniversary edition has an app called Connect.
Use Windows 10 Anniversary’s Connect App to Cast Your Smartphone Screen to Your PC | Windows 10 content from SuperSite for Windows
It is supposed to allow android devices to connect to the laptop display. The same scenario occurs, the laptop says it is connected to the phone, then the S3 gives the error, Failed to connect via Screen Mirroring.
Anyone have an idea why Screen Mirroring from the S3 is not working?
The S3 has Android 4.4.2 and is not rooted.

I believe there was a Screen Mirroring patch from Samsung in the Play Store a while ago. Try finding that and see if it helps. Other than that, it might be that the OS just doesn't fully support Miracast (I'd try it out with another Samsung TV but that's about all I can think of).

Thanks SpookDroid, I tried that patch a while back, it says "Patch is NOT needed", so is no help. My Samsung TV isn't smart, My Samsung Home theater doesn't support mirroring. It does do AllShare and that works from the S3.
I'll try it on a Samsung TV when I come across one.
I wonder if others still using the S3 have trouble mirroring the display.
