Miss my iPhone

the iphone does work great, i never worry about manually shutting down apps in the background or tweaking anything and ive never had any problems when the software was being updated. That being said it can get boring if you like to customize the experience of using the phone. If you want to manually transfer music from a pc to your phone Itunes can be a pain. From all the leaks ive seen so far about the iphone 8 is it's gonna be crazy expensive, $1200+

The last iPhone I had was the iPhone 5 and the battery life on that thing was horrendous. Wouldn't even last me an entire day - I do the same I always do on my S8+ and it lasts way longer. Now, I know the iPhone 5 is years away from the current phone, but my point is, since I've moved to Android (my first Android was Galaxy S5), I haven't had the itch to go back to Apple. I find their phones to be a tad bit too .. boring. Not being able to customize the way I can on my Android phone was a con for me, as well as having to be forced to keep every single icon on my home screen and only having to hide it in a folder, which I find dumb. And all their phones look exactly the same, except for size differences. They haven't really changed their appearance over the years. I work at a phone warehouse company and I deal with iPhones all the time. We recently started selling iPhone 7 under certified refurbished, and having played with it (for testing purposes), I don't really see any reason why I should ever go back to iPhones. Mind you, I love Apple for everything they else - laptops, iPads, etc. Just, their phones haven't really been calling to me. It's way too simple and locked down. Apple doesn't let you do anything under terms of customization and multi-tasking and storage. It's a good phone, works well for what you need it for, but I definitely would not be going back to an iPhone. I love that my Samsung Galaxy S8+ has expandable storage, bezel less screen, I am able to customize it any way I want, I am not forced to keep all icons on my home screen - I could keep it all in the app drawer where it belongs and only keep the ones I want on the home screen. I have 64gb internal storage with 256gb expandable storage, which is more than what any iPhone could provide. I don't have to worry about losing my pictures and music because they're all in my memory card. I am just saying, based on my experience with the iPhone, and with having worked with iPhones at my job, I don't see any reason for me, personally, to jump back on iPhones. I've been a Samsung girl for the past 4 years and I see myself staying as a Samsung girl.

that's why I love T-Mobile, free upgrades whenever you want up to 3 times a year!! I've literally changed phones in a months time before for free haha. never had that "sorry your stuck with it unless you give us a lot of money" thing since I left Sprint and at&t
Sure but you are also stuck with phones that T-Mobile decides to carry. You can't jump to One plus 5, Xperia XZ premium, U11 and I can go on. Sure 99% of the people don't care about all those phones and are perfectly fine with the crippled carrier models but I do like to use whatever phone I want without depending on if the carrier would carry or not. If you buy mostly been Apple, Samsung and LG phones like most people in US do then yeah carrier programs work great and they are pretty good.

Love your post. I couldn't agree more! Glad you are enjoying your Samsung device, and that you're getting good battery life out of it!

It sounds like you got this phone on an installment (NEXT) plan. IIRC there are two flavors - regular NEXT that is 24 months of payments and one that is 18 months (NEXT every year). Regardless, you can return to upgrade eligibility at any time after paying 1/2 of the phone off. Sounds like you had about $300 or so left to go. This isn't unique with installment plans from any carrier.

I'm currently floating back and forth between my Galaxy S8 Plus and my IPhone 7 Plus.

I love the battery life on both phones. Let's not kid ourselves, it's almost the same. Maybe the iPhone gets me through and extra hour.

But that keyboard can't be beat as far as accuracy goes. Yes I can use GBoard, SwiftKey, Fleksy and so on but they just dont compare. Even on the S8 I think Samsung's stock keyboard performs best.

Also, the home button on Apple just feels right. I hate this little square on the S8.

The cameras are both amazing. Just depends what I'm in the mood for that day. Am I going somewhere where I need the colors to pop and need a camera that performs well in low light settings? Or am I going somewhere that I need to zoom in on images and natural looking pics will do those outside pics more justice?

Tough call. I can't let either phone go. Yet.

Had an S8 for two months, and it's a great phone, but I find myself missing my iPhone. AT&T basically told me sorry about your luck you're stuck with it. It would cost me $350 to turn this phone in and then get a new iPhone.

I like this phone but I had an iPhone for so long, Android is just so foreign at this point.

I'm just complaining because AT&T's policies are stupid.

Have you though about selling it on Swappa? You could possibly get more money than what they offer. And then buy an iPhone on Swappa. Best way to switch back. I never deal with carriers, they rob you. I just pay full price and if I want a different phone, sell it myself and buy it myself. Anyone can pop in a SIM card nowadays.
