Missed called since rooting...

Hey Ya'll

Since rooting my phone about 2 months ago, I have noticed an incline in the amount of missed calls. Most of the time, even know the phone is on 24/7, the phone doesn't even ring or show that someone is calling. I'll literally have the phone by my side, and WOW there's a voicemail. No response from the phone whatsoever - no sound, no screen lighting up, nothing.

I'm wondering if this is more of a Verizon side of things, or if it may have something to do with the rooting?

I've rooted to SCH-I500, 2.2.1 - if there is an update, or another root that you recommend me trying, please do let me know. I have missed 2 job offers because of this problem. If i have to root back to the original firmware, please do let me know where I can find it.

I will also point out, I am not very "tech savvy" so if you need more information, do let me know EXACTLY what you need. :) Thanks for any help you can provide!

Try this

Power off phone
Pull your battery and put back in
Power on Phone
*228 opt 1 (reboots automatically)
*228 opt 2 (reboots automatically)

Call yourself and see if that helped.

Also can you go to settings---about phone--and tell me what the last 4 digits of the baseband are?

Last 4 - EB01

I've already done *228 both option 1 and 2 via Verizon tech support a week ago. The problem persists.

got same problem, several software updates with or without data wipe didn't help, currently running comm.rom 2.0 and flashed a wipe version of it.

I would use the link I posted a couple links above and try to get to ED04. It's the newest modem out and has been said to improve missed call issues.

thanks... I would try to update your modem (EB01 is the leaked froyo modem) (which is the last 4 of the baseband you gave me).

Follow the instructions here. [MODEM][ODIN][CWM]DL09, EA28, ED01, ED03, ED04 modems without ridiculous 100MB OTAs - xda-developers

If your un-clear about some of the steps just let me know..

I'll be very clear, that the directions you have linked confuse me very much. I usually have a friend do all this for me, however he is out of town for the next month, and I would like to fix this sooner. I usually use ODIN if I do something by myself - The set it, and forget it method. I am wondering if going back to stock via (DI01 Odin Fix-All - Android Forums) would be my best option, seeing I am not tech savvy... :/

Nah...this is very easy... here are the step by steps.

1. Download the DL09 modem .tar file (this you will use in ODIN) and store on your pc.
2. Download the DL09 to ED04 CWM modem delta file and store on your sdcard of your phone in an easy to find location.
3. Download this recovery file and store on your pc cwm-recovery-ALL.tar found here..[RECOVERY] [3/30/11] Updated ClockworkMod for ALL ROMs - xda-developers

To recap...two ODIN .tar files on your pc and one .zip file on the sdcard of your fascinate.

Steps..

1. Flash the DL09 modem using ODIN (assuming you know how to do this.. just make sure you use the PDA button PDA PDA PDA) after it's finished close ODIN.
2. Battery back in, Reboot your phone.
3. Go to settings--about phone and make sure the baseband last 4 says DL09. If so power off the phone.
4. Flash the cwm recovery all using ODIN. (the second .tar file)
5. After that is complete, close ODIN, put the batter back in the phone and hold the Volume up and down ALONG with the power button all at the same time. Wait for the samsung logo to appear and let go.
6. This should boot into recovery mode.
7. Use the volume up and down to navigate to install from sdcard and press the power button to select
8. Scroll down the list and find where you stored the Dl09- ED04 modem.zip file. and press the power button to select it.
9. Scroll down and select YES-install..
10. When it's finished installing use the menu soft key (far left button on the bottom of the fascinate) to navigate back until you see the reboot phone at the top of the list. Press the power button to reboot

I say, top to bottom this should take around 20 min to download everything and execute.

After you finish rebooting, go to setting--about phone and make sure your on ED04 as baseband.

If so, *228 1/2 again. Try it out.

You are amazing! Currently on ED04, and in the process of *228. Thanks again!!! I hope this works.

My fascinate has been rooted for some time now and missed calls have always mysterious went to voicemail and do not show up on call log.
Its very irritating but recently I had some free time and talked with verizon tech support.
They said the the problem is with the phones. Its an internal issue with the missing calls etc. and cannot be fixed.
They offered me a Samsung Charge. I said I would think about it first......lol
Just a heads to all that they now offer an exchange for the missed call issue.

Should've seen what other phone you could have conned out of them...Thunderbolt?? ;)

I've had that issue since the very beginning, but it got worse over time. The caller can hear the tone that indicates my phone ringing. It keeps ringing and then goes to voicemail. The phone though won't ring at all and if no voicemail is left I wouldn't even know that someone tried to call me. Very frustrating. My girlfriend's Fascinate is set up identically and she doesn't seem to have that problem. When her phone was stock at the very beginning she was constantly getting over 60 hours of battery life with light usage. Go figure :).
