Missed Set up SD card prompt

Apparently I missed the option to set my external SD card as the default when I set up my new phone. I have not been able to do this.

When I Google for How To I get none of the options given in the instructions I found on my phone. They just aren't there.

I also learned the manufacturer supposedly removed the SD card option AGAIN and in order to use my SD card I have to format it.

I can't believe if the option was there during set up why I can't find it post set up. I really don't want to have to copy my SD card to my PC and format it and copy it back. Is there an easier way?

When you try to read the card, if it's not formatted (most of them come formatted), the phone should ask you if you want to format it. If it doesn't, it can be used just the way it is. LG doesn't allow adoptable storage, so there's really nothing to "set up".

If the phone is new can u just do a factory reset?

I apologize if I misunderstand Im just saying because I had to do a few factory resets before getting the v30 and I learned how critical it is to get practice properly backing everything up with back up apps like SMSback up and screenshots and cloud storage.

You do not get to choose this.
The default storage for everything on the phone is the internal storage.
App installation is always the internal storage.

Some apps let you pick where they will store their data (internal storage vs SD card). See the settings for each individual app for this. (Camera, maps, GPS, some games)

Put all your photos, videos, music, and documents on the SD card.
