Missing App Icons

I have a new MT4G that I purchased over the weekend. This morning, I noticed when I click on view all programs, the weather app icon is missing. When I go to search for the app, it shows up. I've tried restarting several times and it's still missing.

Any idea how to fix this?

If its not an app it might be a widget. So hold press on an empty area of your screen to bring up the widget options. The weather widget might be there.

The weather widget still shows up, but the weather app doesn't. I know it was there over the weekend because I use it a lot.

Do you use Apps2SD?

I transferred some apps onto SD (using the application settings), but the weather app wasn't one of the apps that is transferable.

The Weather that comes with the MT4G is an app (and also a widget) so it should show up.
Did you try a batter pull?
When you go to (phone) Setting >> Applications, do you see it there?

I just checked my app drawers, mine is not showing a weather app but I see a htc weather something something when I look at Settings, Applications, manage applications. Maybe the app disappears when you use the widget? I dont know and I don't remember ever seeing it in the apps drawer.

MT4G came equipped with
1. Weather app (HTC)
2. Weather widget (HTC)
The Weather app (in theory) should show in your app drawers. Since there's no way to unistall it (unless you rooted your phone, etc.), then chances are it is there but not showing. Usually a battery pull helps. If you are using the Weather widget then you have access to the app anyway. If you are using Launcher Pro, the Weather (HTC) widget isn't an option.
So again: Phone Setting >> Applications >> Manage Applications >> All ~ and you should see it. Just for the fun of it, try: Phone Setting >> Applications >> Manage Applications >> SD Card and look for it there...

Setting >> Applications >> Manage Applications
select it and clear that cache and data
Try that let us know

Clear cache and battery pull did not fix it. I went ahead and put the weather widget on. At least I'd get weather

Odd. However, you really don't need the app (see below)...

Precisely. The widget will take you to the app, etc., so you have no need for a direct access to it. This particular Weather app/widget is uniquely HTC's. Personally I like Beautiful Widgets and/or WeatherBug Elite much better for weather information and display.

I'm using the HTC clock/weather widget so I really don't need the weather app. I've never had apps disappear before.

I'm using Sense Analog Glass and it has the weather and time which are so customizable (the - home screen - widget). I opted for the extra weather screen (tap weather icon in middle if you set that up) which shows 4 days out.
