I got my Galaxy S5 AT&T version and it says I only have 1.81 gigs of ram. I thought it was supposed to be 2 gigs of ram? Is anyone else seeing this as well?

Mine is the same. I am assuming it is being taken up by the system but I could be wrong. Anyone know for sure?

"2GB" ram is actually 1.81GB of physical RAM.

Same reason 1TB HDDs show up as only 858GB physical space.

Some RAM isn't available for the user/ui/apps, etc and 1.8 is what almost all Android devices with 2GB RAM have.

Gigabytes can refer two two numbers both accurately called gigabytes, but one is also called a gibibyte. 2 gigabytes as 2*1024^3 is 2,147,483,648 bytes and is also called a gibibyte, and is also named as 2*1000^3 is 2,000,000 bytes is 1.86 (rounded) gigabytes. A terabyte is always 1000^4 or 1000 gigabytes, but that would only equate to .91 TiB or 931 gibibytes.
