Just wondering if anyone else went with the newest release of this Rom? I had been on the MIUIwiz and went with the 1.6.24 version. Great Rom but some quirky bugs and was hoping to get some guidance.

1. Swype doesn't want to load and fix permissions/b stats no longer work in Terminal Emulator.

I flashed it last night. As beautiful as it looks and feels, it's pretty much useless until he fixes receiving messages and calls when you lock the screen. Locking the screen puts the phone into deep sleep, so messages and calls are not received until you unlock it. I'm going back to it once this bug is fixed. It looks too good to pass up!

Update: I just read through the post and there is an app he states will prevent the phone from a deep sleep called SoftLocker. I'm going to try that out first before I throw this one to the curb.

Yep. Soft locker works. Calls and SMS come through no problem. Just can.t stand pecking......need swype. :(

Some people were reporting over on XDA that a full uninstall of swype, including deleting any leftover files with root explorer, reboot (or it wont install correctly), then reinstall, followed with a reboot fixed the swype permissions. I did the same thing to get swype working on my MIUI fassy.

I flashed 1.1 on friday and love it!! Where is this 1.6.24 ? I have looked and 1.1 is the newest version I can find

I would purchase this ROM after the MMS and Deep sleep bugs are worked out!!!! This is AWESOME!

I ended up taking it off my phone since it was real buggy. I liked the fact that it can run Netflix, even do the streaming video, but it froze a lot and was a little too laggy. I'm sure the developer will have a better version soon. Once it's updated, it will be my ROM of choice.

I'm intrigued by this rom as well and have been reading up. Looks like it is pretty well supported and they claim to offer updates weekly. I like the idea and am going to jump on soon.

Sent you a pm

I am also wondering what would be the best place to discuss this ROM - I keep jumping between 4 different places trying to piece together the latest info.

Also - why doesn't this ROM get more attention? Am I crazy or is it fantastic? I kind of just gave it a shot on a whim - there were a few things that bugged me a bit initially (like lack of an app drawer) and that it seemed a bit to iPhoney, but after tweaking a few things I am really liking it more and more each day.

Maybe it's just me or dumb luck, but thus far it has excelled in three key areas - stability, battery life and performance. Everything is "snappy" as they say, any bugs I've encountered have been quick and minor and for some reason my battery life is doing better than ever.

I can imagine that it's not for everyone, but the amount of customization available is massive and it's really grown on me. Once there is a new stable CM7 version I'll likely backup and give it a try, but there's a very good chance I'll come back soon after.

I've found that MIUI.us is really the only place that is getting MIUI pub (for obvious reasons). There just aren't enough people on it here or XDA which is too bad becasue I've always loved the support here......and still lurk daily. Trying to give back as much as I can.

I am on JT's VGB and I was thinking about trying MIUI 1.85. Can I just flash this over my current rom or will I have to Odin?

Hmm that's MTD yes? I think that it shouldn't be an issue, but you'd need to ask someone else.

Maybe there's a simpler way, but when I go back to CM7 or MIUI I go through the full procedure of Odin'ing back to stock and building back up to CM7 via its instructions. I know for a fact going from CM7 to MIUI is smooth. I REALLY like MIUI and with the latest Glitch kernels it is fast too. I'd still be on it, but I really missed my HD camcorder and the LED flashlight and few other silly things.

I am a big fan of MIUI - good stuff. Once you organize your apps (I recommend using the built in folders) it ceases to be iPhone-like - try a few of the themes and you have a really cool looking UI.
I think if they ever get our camcorders working and get things really stable I'd switch back.

PROS
• Real purdy - great themes/customization
• Standard browser is basically the Miren browser which I prefer
• Terrific built in backup/restore
• Nice UI for all the settings/toggles
• The MIUI lockscreen has also been a favorite of mine since ComRom
• I had some nice undervolting going on, but overall battery life was very good

CONS
• Can feel a bit iPhoney till you customize
• No App Drawer is very odd, but is easily "solved" by using the folders.
• Basically it's a real nice launcher, nice camera app, nice lockscreen and browser and you can get most of these on other ROMS (not certain if someone has a MIUI launcher that's usable)
