'..I probably could ((install MIUI on one of your 3 Touchpads)), but I'm not interested in Android. It has nothing i can't get better from webOS. I know there are some/a lot of apps not available on webOS. Buf I don't need them.
Please discuss everything in the above mentioned thread on android central. I'm there as well.
I will not respond any further here..'

So please respond here instead then.. even if you are 'not interested in Android'!

Thanks!

So I hope when you are less busy and have some time, that you can explore the option of thinking out how to install MIUI on one of your TouchPads.. also have some fun doing it.. and then tell US how the install and resultant interest in Android went for you!

Good Luck with it!

:)

Yes, but why are you not trying it?

EDIT: still waiting for VPN to work. I need rdp over vpn.
EDIT2: today I installed alpha 5. I couldn't get it downloaded on android with stock browser, dolphine or opera. But it works with webOS?

Because I only have ONE (1) TouchPad and am so far happy with the CM7 A3 + Xron version.. that's why!

Maybe you will find time over Christmas!

Good luck with it!

I tried it.

It's pretty - the menus etc look nice. Icons look nice.

It runs reasonably fast - felt fairly lag-free once I had it set up at my 1.5ghz speed.

There are a few annoyances - like the soft buttons covering up other soft-buttons (it's a hodgepodge solution to the lack of a soft-button bar like CM7 has, it works but it's not as clean as I'd like).

It's not set up as a root user by default. This is annoying to me as I don't like having to grant permissions for every single app I run. I'm sure I could have solved this, and for a casual user this is probably a good thing... Disabling user account controls is the very first thing I do on any computer. I hate technology second-guessing me :).

It -completely- broke by the third time I booted it (for some reason it booted up into a "getting started touch the android" screen and wouldn't let me get past it no matter what I did). Nothing to do but reflash it. I decided not to reflash into MIUI as this would be the fourth time (first time I flashed it I had mass force-closes, second time I was caught in a reboot loop, third time worked for 3 reboots as I explained above, not worth doing again as I've already wasted a morning on it).

In the short time I had it I didn't get the chance to test whether or not it improved netflix etc, but from what I'm reading it does not. Didn't seem to improve app compatability and I didn't see any real compelling reason to try and get it running again. Restored my 3.5 xron build and I'll be sticking with that probably until ICS hits (well, I'll update it as updates come out if we're still stuck with CM7, I just expect an ICS to hit somewhere around christmas - I have the feeling we're all going to get a nice christmas present from dalgrin and the gang).

Not totally knocking MIUI, it would probably be a fine choice for a casual user (provided it doesn't almost immediately break like mine did).

Thanks for confirming.. those were really my feelings about it too.. 3.5//Xron seems pretty good till ICS!

Installed this morning, not a problem. I at first installed over Cyanagen 3 got a boot loop, went back into recovery did a wipe first, then reinstalled and worked fine.
