MKBHD review of the LG G4

looks like a great device but i think it will be out of my price range. im not buying anything over $300-400 anymore. ill wait for the oneplus2, moto g 3rd gen or the next nexus.

Including the free extra battery, $100 pre order gift card, free cradle and the SD card, at $600 full retail (Sprint & Verizon, AT&T is more) - I basically consider this a $375 phone for those who preorder through Best Buy and $475 for those who don't. Value per dollar this just took the lead, IMO over the X 2014. So MKBHD didn't like the materials, I too would prefer the leather back. I'm glad there's another big camera player on the scene - this creates more choices on viable OEMs for shutterbugs.

One thing I noticed abut the review is that he said with the double tap to camera feature, he said he didn't like how it automatically took a photo. Seems like he didn't know you can turn that off in the options so it won't take a photo but will quick launch.

Yup..

What I find interesting is that the majority of reviews so far has been straight from the box types. I'm just wondering how much tweaking is going to change the outcome for us?

Basically battery life is pretty good as is from everything said, how much better can it be made?

Yup! I saw the setting while playing with the camera last night.

Agreed with every point he made.

The G4 is impressive but I'm all in because of the Leather back.

One thing is clear from reading reviews of newer releases, they all hate Lollipop.

My question is whether the G4 will be susceptible to warming up like the G3 did? I like having the brightness up but on the G3 if the phone got too warm, then it started dropping the brightness down.

You think so? Imo it's the issue with 5.01 having a memory leak which causes many problems. I'm using Lollipop on my G3 and prefer it over Kitkat, except for a few annoying problems that should go away after the 5.1x is out.

i haven't seen anybody complain about lag or overheating on xda at all yet.
