MMS as Slideshow with stock Messaging app

I'm still very happy with my Moto X 2014. I have the pure edition on ATT and I'm on 6.0. The one thing that has always bugged me since leaving my iPhone 4 is when I receive multiple pics they are received as a slideshow. Other than "use a different app for texting" is there a way to change this? Is this common with all Android devices? I've searched around and haven't really found any way around it. Any help is appreciated.

This is an issue with Motorola's Messaging app.

Solution is to use a different SMS/MMS app.
