MMS issues after update

I know some have posted a few issues after the update, but this is different.

I'm on Verizon. use the stock mms app, and since the update I've been getting messages that state I need to update the message app to 'messsages +" to receive group messages. I'm leary of the notification, since I was receiving them already, and it didn't look quite right. But after that point it seems that some messaged aren't coming through, and one that did gave me a glitchy notification that was blinking.

Has anyone done the update, does it change anything?

Messages+ often fails trying to send MMS to non-Verizon phones. Avoid!
