Mms on straight talk help!

if you are able to make calls, recieve texts and send MMS texts/picture texts but just not SMS texts then this might help

ok id say reset to factory settings because ive never heard of it telling you to go to some site to see your message

but if u have a lot and dont want to do that you could try this first and if this doesnt work do factory reset and try again

go to phone mode dial

*#*#4636#*#*

click phone information scroll down where it says SMSC and click refresh

for att sim your code should say 07913121139418f0

if it does not say that...thats your problem enter that code click update and refresh....reboot phone it can take up to 10 minutes then try sending text

I will try that, everything on the phone works except mms

I am having the same problem. I tried both APN settings with and without the proxy filled in but I still cannot get MMS or data to work. Have you tried a factory reset? I am going that next if I cannot get it to work soon. I have not tried the latest suggestion so I will try that before a factory reset.

UPDATE: Factory reset worked!

I've tried every suggestion here, and nothing has worked....just doing without mms right now and emailing photos..
I haven't tried a factory reset, the phone was reset when I got it.

Oh wow, just replied and saw the factory reset worked for you...which apn settings did you use?

I am using the APN settings that were in the red book, I do include the proxy setting. Have you used another carrier's SIM card in the phone? Mine used a T Mobile one for week so I think that is why the factory reset was needed.

Well I think the guy I bought it from had att, but I'm pretty sure he factory reset before I bought it. I may have to try the reset though

Just thought I would give my resolution to this. I have since switched back to a 4s and couldn't get my mms working on it either ( i did the jailbreak tether me method). Turns out, it had something to do with the network. I called straight talk and told them I had switched sims around and knew it was a problem with my account /network. He did something and told me to take the sim out for 60 and put back in and everything works as it should. I dreaded calling them, but I actually got someone who spoke pretty good English!!

Hello,
I will post my resolution to this problem... I called straight talk and they said to put in this setting for MMS proxy : mms2.tracfone.com

not the 66.209.11.33 setting that other sources say.
Save the setting... I have to reboot the phone for the change to take effect.

Just want to let everyone know ... the above solution (changing MMS proxy from 66.209.11.33 to mms2.tracfone.com then rebooting the phone) worked fine for me too. Thanks evansmichaelj! I was pulling my hair out :/

someone at straight talk fat-fingered the settings on the instruction page....
THE CORRECT MMS PROXY FOR SENDING MMS IS 66.209.11.32 (not 66.209.11.33)

if you ping the mms2.tracfone.com, it resolves to 66.209.11.32

apn type = default,supl,mms

but im pretty sure if u just enter in apn type using an asterix "*" (no quotes, just a *) it will cover everything
