MMS over wifi

I noticed that when I am at work, connected to WIFI, with limited 3g, I cannot receive MMS text messages unless I have a 3g signal. Why is this? Is there a work around?

Beats me. You can always use Google voice over wifi.

MMS comes over Verizon's data feed, not the Internet, so WiFi doesn't help you in that regard.

Google Voice cannot send/receive MMS messages (yet).
