MMS photo problem

Since I'm new to this Android thing, there's probably a solution. I just don't know what it is.

Every time I get a photo MMS with any type of writing in it, it looks like this:

(Excuse the editing in the first photo. My sister was in a wreck and let's just say she was....mad :) She's fine BTW.)

Then when I open the slide show, the photos are so tiny, I can't see anything:

Can I turn that off so when I get more than one picture in an MMS or a picture and text, it'll stop that? I can't see the photos and have to get the sender to send the photos individually which is a pain or I just have to pretend I've seen them. This is the one thing I hate about this phone and it's making me miss my iPhone.

What you see is normally what the sender sends. If they're sending you 320X480 videos, you're going to see a small video on a screen with a lot more resolution. (If the video is larger than 1MB, it's going to be compressed, and there's no way to tell how any individual carrier is going to compress any given file type, so that could also be a factor. Any file larger than 1MB should be emailed, not texted.)

This isn't a video. This is a photo sent through MMS. It comes through as a slide show if there is more than one photo attached or if the sender, in this case my sister, includes a line of text with the photo.

This is a problem that happens when an iPhone user sends a picture with a text in the same message. Its the way apple codes their picture messages that include text, unfortunately.

I know of no work around since its Apple...not anything your phone is doing wrong. There is one option tho...you can long press on the picture message and click save/download image and then you can open it full size in your gallery. I know it's annoying

P.S. - you can also ask the iPhone user to send the picture..then type the text and send it. That's what I used to do when I had a iPhone..send pic..then type the text. I know that's not really ideal but if your friend doesn't mind then that will make the problem go away.

I would be thrilled if I could even get any pictures messages through MMS. I get the picture with a box that says Download, I click it, it says Downloading then goes back to Download. Eventually it disappears altogether and the text thread will show an empty bubble where the picture should be. Happens with my kids sending me photos in texts whether individually or a group from their iPhones and when my daugther-in-law sends me one on her Android. I also can't send pictures, some error pops up that I don't have time to read. I plan on taking the phone into Verizon to see if there is a setting that needs turned on for me to get and send picture messages.

I do this but it's annoying that I have to remind my sister and a friend to stop putting text with a photo and they have to send one photo at a time or I get that stupid slide show.

Google needs to fix this.
