Each time I get or make a call I keep seeing the message "Mobile data not available unless you use WiFI.

Is there anyway to stop this message from showing up? I only need to be told once :)

I think its a Verizon thing. I get that message. Doesn't bother me too much since I usually can't use the phone for anything else anyway. This may have been answered before but is there a reason why mobile data doesn't work while in call? Pretty sure it worked just fine with my previous phone, LG G2.

You have to turn on advanced calling. Should be on the settings when you open the dialpad.

Kelly, I can't find that setting. If you have a chance can you check where it is? I would like to turn it on.

Are you on Verizon too? That is where I think it is for Verizon. AT&T and T-Mobile call it VoLTE but they have both been able to browse and talk at the same time.

Thanks Kelly- will try that. Was hesitant to turn it on because on my G2 is caused all kinds of battery drain wakelock issues for me. On that phone, mobile data while on call did not require it to be on. Wallstreet, if you're on Verizon , go into Settings and the option for Advanced Calling is right there on the main menu under Mobile Networks.

The note 5 requires advanced calling 1.0 to be enabled in order to achieve simultaneous voice and data. The g2 (and even the note 4) doesn't require ac 1.0 to be active for simultaneous voice and data. This is because the note 5 has one cellular path and cdma is not capable of simultaneous voice and data over one cellular path like gsm/h/h+. On the note 4 and a number of older phones, Verizon had two cellular paths, to allow simultaneous voice and data.

Where is the setting to turn it on?

Is there a charge to turn HD voice and video calling on?
No, it is free. Note that there are usage charges and it will count against your allotment, if you don't have unlimited.
