I have an S4 (not rooted) and believe am in an XLTE market (at last according to Here are Verizon's initial XLTE cities | CrackBerry.com). I ran a speed test (using the Speedtest application) and got a download speed of 18.96 Mbps and 2.5 up. As a comparison my wifi (which should be running "N") is getting 16.42 down and 1.67 up.

Is this to be expected? If not, what should I do?

I have been to Seattle Washington a couple times in the last few weeks where there is XLTE. I live about 35 miles north of there so I'm not in XLTE market where I live. Both times I did a speed test and got over 50 down and 30 up.

Really??? One fraking reply? :)

I expect that most Verizon Wireless users no longer have unlimited data, and running a speed test can use a considerable amount of data. Perhaps those who have read your posts either are not in an XLTE market, or do not have a plan with sufficient data allotment to be willing to use it running a speed test.
