Mobile Gmail and Desktop Gmail wont sync up

So i have continued to recieve all of my emails as usual on my droid. But after i delete an email, my "gmail unread count" widget still shows a new email. and when i then log into my gmail on a desktop, it is in my inbox as an unread message. Suggestions?

It needs time to sync and reload the data, if you go into the Gmail app and Menu>Refresh it will fix it.

Also make sure you have sync turned on. Go to settings< accounts and sync< and make sure that you have the box checked for automatic sync and background data sync.
