mobile network connection notification

Quick question-

Just got a fascinate today, and I live in a rural area where my 3g service drops from time to time as I drive around. The fascinate makes an audible sound every time it drops and again every time it reconnects. I can't figure out how to turn that notification off, I hope some other fascinate owner can help me out.

Nope, there is no setting for this. Silent mode will stop it, but we haven't figure out a workaround yet.

Have to admit, that feature is my largest peeve with this phone. The 3G signal in certain parts of my house is intermittent at best, so I just hear those lovely notification sounds going off nonstop unless I go to airplane mode (which I'd obviously rather not do) or leave the phone in a room with halfway decent signal strength.

Definitely hoping someone comes up with a workaround for this.


If I had half a clue as to how these phones worked, I'd try to silence that sound myself. xD

We've tried.. This should be fixed with custom roms, but for now I've tried everything I can think of, including editing sound files and flipping values in settings.db.
