Sorry to re-post this, posted elsewhere with no response (probably because the thread doesn't remain on page 1).

I have noticed that on my TB, if I check "connect" for mobile network then go into a web browser (ie: Dolphin)- as long as i stay inside the browser I stay connected. If I go to answer an email or text someone then come back to the browser- its disconnected and shows connection failed. I thought you were supposed to be able to multi-task with this thing? Apparently multi-task didnt include web surfing? Maybe Im doing something wrong. I love the phone, but it quickly looses mobile network connectivity by mearly going in/out of a browser? Happens with Facebook as well. If I am in it and click home and go to another app and come back to FB, it tells me FB could not retrieve data. I go back to wireless network and the damn this is showing failed to connect again. Anyone else experience this? I am stationary when this happens and not that I am driving or going in/out of a coverage area. Any sugguestions from some of you droid pros is greatly appreciated. : D

That shouldn't happen. I have no issues bouncing from internet to pandora to email.

Under settings / wireless & networks / mobile networks / is "enable always on mobile data" checked?

Under settings / wireless & networks / "mobile network" should also be checked

You don't happen to have one of those power saving apps (like juice defender/green power/ etc..) installed do you?
Are you 4G or 3G

Where are you checking ""connect" for mobile network" as stated in your op? You shouldn't have to "connect" every time you want to access the internet.

I am on 4G for most the areas in Orlando where I live. I have a stock TB with no Power saver apps installed. For the mobile network, all I see is the option to turn it on/off. I do not see anything that says "enable always on mobile data". I leave it checked, but it constantly disconnects. This is extremely annoying when I am in a hurry or have to do something right away. : (

Enable always on is in the mobile networks. settings.

What PRL do you have on your phone? settings / about phone /software info /

I'd also add a widget to your home screen. The mobile data (or network) widget. This way you can just use this to turn your 4G back on.

When was the last time you rebooted your phone?

Ok, I went into Wireless & networks>Mobile networks and "Enable always-on mobile data" was infact, checked. The PRL showing is: 15011 I reboot my phone every couple of days or so, or if I see something is not updating or locked up. My 4G/3G connection never gives me an issue. So from what I gathered, I should be able to leave mobile network checked, and go in/out of my web browser w/o disconnecting? Well then, my TB has to be defective then. Bummer! Maybe its time to call VZW.

Ya something sounds up. I can surf the web, get a text then answer the text and go back to surfing with no issues. Maybe try a factory reset (vzw will tell you to do that when you call), if that doesn't work I'm sure vzw will replace it for free.

Looks like I may have to restore back to factory, but hate that I will have to DL all my apps again. Oh, well. Thank you to those who chimmed in. Much appreciaited.

On another note, Have any of you all checked out the AC app in the market? Just curious if its a good DL.

Try using the app "my backup" to restore your apps, contacts, etc...

NO, dont to a factory reset. that probably wont help. that is always a CSR advice. i also got advice to replace my sim card. no help.

many people have this same issue - including me. look at other threads. VZW is suuposed to have an OTA to fix this, but who knows when. just hang in there.

Ok, so its not just me. I did read others with similar issues but on other phones. So I was not sure if the same applied to the TB. I will try "my backup" in re: to saving my apps, etc. If this is infact an issue they are aware of, then I feel a little better about not being alone and that a possible OTA will fix this. Hopefully, they include the fix with this OTA (whenever they get around to deploying it). The low to nill audio quality when recording video is a complete let down. Not to mention the battery issues. As usual, we wait...and wait some more.
