Mobile radio active?

Can someone please explain to me what mobile radio active is in battery usage? When I go to battery usage for example for google play it says 13m 59s for CPU total but 1h 11m 59s mobile radio active. What is mobile radio active?

It's the mobile communications itself, it's your service, LTE radio, etc.
