As owners will know, the Notifier requires a special micro-USB cable, with an elongated snout on the watch end. I left my watch on all night, and it died on me during the day today. The factory cable with that long snout is at home, so I took and old Motorola micro-USB cable and cut some of the rubber from around the micro end. As luck would have it, the metal underneath was just the right shape to slide into the Notifier's housing. Now I have 2 cables for my watch.

If you have extra micro-USB cables around, give it a try. Just don't force it into the watch. YMMV, not responsible for damages, etc.

Do you have a picture or measurement of how much of the sheath will need cutting off? I've ordered my Notifier and it should arrive by the weekend but I wanted to see if I could modify a cable before it arrived so I had a second one.

I left it at work, but I'll put up a pic on Monday. It just takes a little trimming, give it a try.

Wow, thank you so much for posting this. I had just ordered one to the states and my wife brought it back to Toronto, but she just grabbed the watch without looking for anything else in the box which was tossed. So, I had a brand new oversized watch without any of the notifier functions, and as I suspected a replacement cable is almost as expensive as a new watch. But this worked like a charm. So, I'm a happy camper.

Just in case anyone is interested, this is all I needed to cut off to get a standard usb cable to work. The sheathing is the only thing that stops it being pushed all the way into the watch and it now charges the watch with no issues.
