modem update on OTA froyo?

at this point (until the SD card bugs are worked out of the Gingerbread leak) i am running the stock OTA froyo ED04 (2.2.1 firmware, 2.6.32.9 kernel)... what steps would i have to take to flash the EC09 modem without causing issues with my phone...

or is it worth it, i keep hearing lots of raves about the better signal/speed of the Gingerbread people (lol) but is modem with my ota stock/rooted froyo gonna make that much diffrence?

Simple, flash this modem file in the PDA section of ODIN:

is there a walkthru to flash the modem? i am very new to this, so i would feel more confident with one

EDIT: nevermind, i pushed it thru with ODIN without a hitch, no walkthru needed...
