Modifying Google Cards

I am not sure if Oreo/Pixel scaled back google card functionality which I had on marshmallow/Samsung.

I would get a card notification and was given an option like "Are cards like this helpful to you?" I could really tweak notifications to fit what I was interested in.

Favorite feature was that I could pick my favorite sports teams and would get a notification when their games started and also had the option to say don't show me the score for a team if I did not want to be spoiled (DVRing a game).

Are these detailed google card options gone in Oreo?

I looked in the Google feed settings and only one option for Sports: Sports scores notifications on or off.

Nope, they're still there.

Find a story in the feed and tap the three dots in the top right.

Then choose "Customize Stories..."

Under Sports, choose "View All Settings"

I have the choice for:

Notification of Game Reminders
Notifications of Sports Scores

Preferences:
Sports Updates
Video Highlights

Scroll down to pick your teams and leagues.

I have all of them checked for the teams I've chosen. If you don't see those options, you may want to see if your Google App is updated.

I'll need to wait for a sport score to pop up so I can test. I was moving the card to the right and clicking on the gear which pretty much gives an on off for that type of notification.

I think you are saying open the sports score notification and there will be 3 dots that will allow me to make changes?

Is there anyway to get into sports notifications without waiting for one to come up? Google feed settings does not allow me to do this in advance.

You can click the three dots on any story and go to customize stories from that menu.

See the three dots to the far right of Premier League? You should have those too on any story. Click that.
