I must agree with you! Sounds like a bad battery or your signal isnt to great. In the battery app what does it say? Could also be an app too.

So last night I turned my Verizon galaxy s3 off and charged it. For some reason it would not get to 100% charged even after being on the charger for nearly 6 hours. So I figured no big deal its gotta be fully charged by now. So I unplugged the phone and let it sit there off all night. When I woke up, the phone was dead. So I am thinking that I have a bad battery because the phone was off and the battery still died. Also the battery drains like nothing I have ever seen, nearly 15-20% an hour. I have done all the tricks and tips that have been shared but the battery is just terrible. This is a certified brand new phone and I have only had it a few days. Should I just take it to Verizon and ask for a new battery? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

By off... Do you mean the screen was off (phone locked) or off as in holding the power button and doing a power down of the phone.

I am assuming you mean you just had the phone locked and the battery drained a ton. Next time you get a full charge let the battery run down again and go to system settings > battery to show us what's using battery (look below for an example of what the battery statistics look like... Yours will differ from mine)

IF the battery is losing charge while the phone is powered down, that sounds like either a bad battery or a hardware fault in the device. Most likely battery.
