I presume that you were seeing plenty of signal bars on your signal indicator...would I be correct in presuming this? Also I take it that you don't have the air plane mode turned on... Sorry I'm not sure what your skill/comfort level is with your android phone.

1) How often does this occur (not being able to receive calls but being able to make them)?

Here is one solution that might help depending on whether or not you have tried it yet...
1) get to the home screen.
2) hit the "menu" key
3) then hit the "settings" key
4) scroll down to "about phone"
5) hit "system updates"
6) choose "update prl"
7) let your phone do it's thing
8) if your phone is successful in updating it's PRL (preferred roaming list) then you should see a box pop up that says your phone needs to reset it's radio.
9) hit "okay".
10) hopefully this helped your problem.

Have you taken your phone to a sprint store? I'm presuming you have sprint since you have a samsung moment as that is the only carrier that I know of in the USA that has the samsung moment at this time. So...if you have taken the phone to a sprint store is it still with in the manufacturer's warranty? Have sprint replace it if it is. If you have a warranty program (you would be paying $7 per month extra) then I would recommend contacting them and stating that you have dropped your phone or a friend dropped your phone and now you can make calls but can't receive calls (remember the $7 per month warranty program does cover software issues so it fell in the toilet, etc). For, I believe, $80 you get a new/refurbished phone.

Another option is to factory reset your phone and then reload all of your programs. If you have the gmail account set up and have your contacts syncing with Gmail then you will not loose any contacts as long as you make sure you do a final sync before you factory reset your phone. You will loose your bookmarks but you can download "BookmarksSB" and back up your bookmarks to your micro SD card again *before* factory reset. Basically find a way to back up what ever you can back up *before* the factory data reset.
To factory reset your phone...
1) from home screen hit "menu", then "settings", and then scroll to "privacy settings"
2) select "factory data reset"
3) let your phone do it's thing
4) set up your phone to your preferences again and hopefully you don't have that annoying problem.

Sorry...again I'm presuming...you phone is running Firmware version: 2.1-update1 Build number: ECLAIR.DE03? If so, according to the sprint store, that is the latest official firmware and build for the samsung moment.
