More Bionic pictures... closeups of the screen

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't there too many unknown variables here to pass judgement? What was used to capture the screen shot? What image quality was the shot saved in? What image quality was the shot uploaded in? What resolution is your monitor?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending the phone. Screen quality is at the top of my priority list. I will go to a Verizon store and see if I like the Bionic's screen for myself before pulling the trigger.
Beat me to the punch.

That's exactly what I did. I didn't see any problems with it since I wasn't putting the damn thing ON my face. How can people read like that?

A picture of a screen is never going to look good, even on the best of screens. Maybe if you have a really amazing camera, but obviously this guy does not. Plus, you really don't see that in the picture unless you enlarge it and crop it. Seriously, the human eye can't really perceive this sort of thing unless it's really close to it.

The phone looks amazing, the screen isn't super terrible, it's not oversaturated like the GSII, but not washed out because of the pentile. When it comes to a 4G phone, I'd take slightly worse screen (that I really won't even notice the difference) for better battery life. Battery life is a big factor in me buying a phone, as I would like to use my phone as a backup when I actually need it.

I understand that you can adjust the gs2 screen to eliminate the oversaturation to your liking. One of the reasons reviewers are loving the gs2.

I'm talking about this picture thats 1/3 the size of the screen, isn't this enlarged?

1/3rd the size of what screen?

It's not enlarged BY ME. It's the photo from the site.

The scaling is irrelevant. You can see the issue with their pentile choice.

Believe it or not, i'm allowed an opinion.

There aren't too many variables. Go look at the DX2 or the atrix in person. Then form an opinion.

Seriously. We get it. You don't like the screen. You've stated it about 8 times in this thread. I'm aware, I'm sure the mods are now aware. Continuing to explain to us your personal preference on the screen is pointless. Please stop.

If you wish to discuss the merits of the pentile screen please visit the pentile opinion thread.

I'm still happy with my OG Droid screen. So if this is as good or better then I'm happy.

Ditto. Other than the size of my OG Droid screen, i like the quality. I 'really' noticed how small the screen was after using the NookColor that I installed CyanogenMod7 on for about 3 hours.. then i picked up my toy phone lol really got 'larger screen envy' at that point.

No thanks.

The first droid had a fantastic display. I'd argue that it's better. It has more subpixels than the bionic.

Look at me with my little toy chocolate. I pick up a Droid X and I'm like wtf? I have the smallest damn phone lol. I can't stand small screens.

Subpixels......ey yey yey...........

...take your nerd herd back to the school yard....Who cares! It's a bloody phone! I have had lots of phones and guess what, none of them have been perfect. I've seen the X2, D3 and Charge. The Charge has a beautiful screen, but the D3 and X2 were great as well. This nonsense about breaking down pixels and yada yada is for the birds. Pick up a device, hold it in your hands, watch a Nextflix on it and decide how you feel when you actually put it through it's paces.

I have a sucky BB Storm 2. It's broken and way out dated, I can't wait to upgrade. For me, the Bionic will be light years ahead. That said, it isn't going to be perfect. I'm confident that it's going to be a terrific phone, but so will others. I bet the G2S will be terrific, but I'm passing on the opportunity because I decided that what I saw didn't do it for me. I would never get an iPhone, but I'd recommend it to certain people because I might think it's right for them. No matter what you buy......there will be something new to salivate over within months and that's life.

When asked, a person who replies, "THIS IS THE GREATEST PHONE ON EARTH", hasn't had it long enough for the "newness" to wear off. Someone who HATES their phone has had it too long or just had a bad experience. I'll take a level headed response that explains the positives and the negatives.

Who care if you have a screen preference. I have a motorcycle preference but I am only going to say it once and intellectually, Harley Davidson. I wish more people could state opinions once, because an opinion stated 8 times doesn't make it fact or right, and clouds up room for more interesting talk.

I thought my phone was awesome when I bought it. It was pretty cool at the time, but it sucks now. I always hated I had really crappy pictures and video. And just the software on the phone just never worked correctly all the time. I spent hours trying to fix problem with it.
