More Bluetooth Problems after Root

I'm having more problems than before on my Epic. The previous problems were with my phone and Ford's SYNC. It would not find the phone or would randomly disconnect. To be clear, that is still happening.

The new problem started today. I have been sending pics since the update via Bluetooth and it has worked fine. Today when I tried to send pics to my wife's phone (previously paired) I kept getting an error that it failed. She said that her phone kept getting a pairing request from "BRCM Bluetooth". My phone has been renamed, and this is not the name. I finally got her phone paired up with "BRCM Bluetooth" and started to transfer the file. Once again it wouldn't completely transfer and her phone said that the transfer failed due to a disconnection from my phone.

I have formatted the SD card and it didn't work. I rooted my phone last week with the simple root because I wanted to back it up and do a factory wipe (which I haven't yet done). So my questions are:

Is my problem due to a faulty phone?
Is my problem due to the EB13 update?
Is my problem due to the root?

If it is the phone, I will need to return it to stock and return it (I'm not sure if that would be to Sprint or Best Buy). If it is the EB13 update, I will do the factory wipe and hope that it works. If it is due to the root, I will have to unroot or find a root that works.

Since I am not sure if this is an EB13 problem or a root problem I will post it in both forums.

Any help is appreciated.

I know there is some trouble with blue tooth when you root and convert to EXT4 file system. That I can confirm. There are a few ROMs that have this fixed in it but some are still reporting some issues even with these ROMs.

Anything else, I'm not a very big blue tooth user so I can't comment much. Hopefully your reach out to the AC community will provide more answers to your questions.

I did not get around to doing the EXT4 switch for that very reason. These problems are with the stock file system. Only thing that I have done is the one click root.

Root access alone does not affect bluetooth. You probably had problems before rooting. You can use Odin to unroot if you'd like to confirm.

That is kind of what I thought since I had already been having problems. Is there any ROM that fixes the Bluetooth problems?

People have been having good success with Syndicate and Bonsai for fully functional blue tooth from my understanding.. I guess there is the occasional problem but for the most part they work.

BT is important for me too and the more I read about Bonsai, the more I think I take the plunge with that ROM to check it out.
