I have a car with no aux inputs, and it has integrated DVD player for the rear seat. Unfortunately, all this goes through the vehicle's computer bus wiring and isn't easily "hacked".

I'd like to find an adapter that works on FM or intercepts the antenna connection (wired FM modulator) while in use. I'd like something that can be dash mounted and control the phone while using Bluetooth. However, I don't care for the rather cheap looking devices that plug into the cigarette lighter. I'd like something that looks and works better.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Are you talking about connecting your phone to your car stereo without connecting to an auxiliary port? If so, there are devices that plug into your headphone port on the phone and require you to tune into a certain fm station on your car radio. Depending the device and interference you can have poor quality.

They all plug into your cigarette lighter (or) power outlet, and pretty much all the ones I've seen have been pretty cheap looking, but I won't say I've searched far and wide either (also, cheap is in the eye of the beholder). I don't have a specific recommendation for you, so my recommendation is to just search Amazon for "FM transmitter for phone".

Edit: actually, I seem to recall that they also make some FM transmitters that plug into the audio output on the phone, but I don't know of they are brand specific or brand agnostic. That's another consideration.

They're only as good as the station you use it on. Which can change as you drive through town.

I picked one up from radio shack a couple years ago for 50 bucks. It's low profile and has shocked me with how well it's worked. It's in my company car right now, I'll get the brand in a bit.
