Im on kit kat and cant seem to play most games without the fone hanging . I usually press power button , swipe to unlock to continue playing . This happens every 10 seconds or so . Some of the games are - zombiewood , respawnables , punch hero , real boxing . Asphalt 8 , leos fortune etc

It might be possible that your internal memory is full, if so delete some stuff or move videos or photos to external memory card

Still have 2.3g rom free . Ram usage around 500mb to 700mb

Then it could be because your apps are malicious or modified, have you downloaded apps from places other then play store like torrets, aptoide or some other source?
If so then remove those apps and strictly use playstore to download, other then that I can't think why apps would crash on your phone.

The apps are downloaded from playstore. Begining think its the phone . Downloaded zen pinball yesterday and the same thing is happening .

Ok, first off. Modified apps.
Well sideloading apps is risky, and can have malicious code. All In all, I doubt this would cause your problem.

As for your laggy games.
Are you rooted?
Are you using greenify?
Are you using cpu underclocking?

These could cause your problems. Make sure they are off/off for that app.

See if you can fisnagle more usable ram.

Reflash your rom (if custom)
If not, odin your stock os.

Not just a factory reset. Full wipe and reinstall. Then see how well your phone slices that butter.

I'm not rooted and I dont intend to . I think the only option left for me is to factory reset . But does it guarantee it doesnt come up again? Since I don't even know what the problem is .

Go to setting, applications manager then swype to the tab that says all applications, press the option button and choose reset app preferences, this method solved problems related to non functioning of Google apps so it might work in your case but a factory reset should definately solve the issue if it's a software one.
I also recommend you to wipe your phones cache from recovery mode, if that doesn't work then go for factory reset.
