Before I spend money on an overclocking app for my DX, I want to get opinions and feedback from users. I have put a poll up for helping me decide which one to go for.

Which OC'ing app is most preferred by Droid X users and why?

Unstable Apps DX/D2 Overclocker ;)

Thats the one I got and voted on thought it was real user friendly

Im running unstable and well its stable and works great. They have a few presets and you can make custom settings.

JRUMMYS got a killer widget and plenty of xtras like build.prop, boot, setcpu , and StageFright! A must buy.

Edit: Stagefright sucks.......It took out my video playback. I put settings back to FALSE so all is good now.

I have only used JRummys and there is so much in that app it took awhile to understand and utilize all of its features. The UI is of the highest quility and makes overclocking a breeze. Rare to see such a nice UI and slew of features for so cheap.

Ok how about this... which of these OC apps have undervoltage capabilities? That's something I'd like to experiment with as well.

I know unstable does, that was the only setting I could use without the phone rebooting, but now seems to reboot with that after the update

JRummys has Super LV, LV, Moderate, High, and Stock Settings tab. There are twelve presets for frequently ranging from 700 mhz to 1.45 ghz. Three slots each.

I have three profiles set and a 110 second delay to apply OC on boot. Adjusted wifi scan time, the STAGEFRIGHT settings off, and Governed is on demand. I have the setcpu widget updating every 30 sec and it stays at 400mhz most times, occasionally it will be at 1250mhz.

I also removed the boot animation for a faster boot, activated the add blocker, cleaned my cache and moved chaches and apps to SD all from that Jrummys app.

And I didn't touch several other extras because I didn't know what they do and my stock setting is higher than the presets. Don't know if higher is better with the DalvikVM Heap and Max events?

Jrummy has preset settings. High, Medium, Low, and Ultra low. Medium being stock. High will go up 2, 64 vsl to 66 vsl for example.

Nice... thanks for the clarifications. How stable/reliable has Jrummy's app been?

Well since upgrading to .340 I have had zero reboots. The Apex Rom I loaded a day after the .340 release has also had zero restarts. The app itself has never fc or lagged where it wasn't supposed to. It has never failed to set the oc after boot but all the stuff its doing is hard to prove. The phone does seem faster. But I am a firm believer in the placebo effect.

So it may be to early to tell. It takes weeks to determine how solid these changes are.

All these OC apps are good....you can't go wrong with any of them. It s just a preference as to the one YOU want.

I'd like to have one that has many features to it, I like experimenting with things on this phone. It seems to my Jrummy's app has the most stuff with it rather than basic features.

I was a little hesitant to try, but it seems like JRummy has everything broken down with an easy interface... i may just try it sooner than i thought
