Most Reliable Android Phone?

Well i look at it this way, i currently have an HTC sensation 4g which is from 2011. I got it in 2012 though. But it randomly shuts down, its buggy, and overall laggy. Also the UI is extremely slow.
That's because of the overlay (sense). That's why I'd recommend a Nexus. It's has no overlay anchor weighing it down. The G2 has LGs overlay.

Like to open apps. I dont care too much if some people think the LG G2 ui is cluttered, that doesn't bug me at all. You can turn a lot of the unnecessary animations off too.
You cannot turn off the overlay. Even if you install a launcher, it will just ride on top of it. And will still use system resources.

Want a reliable phone? Then get a dumb phone. What you need is a phone where you know that nothing is going to go wrong, and if you drop it, it's not going to shatter and stop working.

The OP asked for the most reliable Android device though.

No matter what phone is suggested, someone somewhere is either having problems with it or hates it, no matter how many others have the same phone and no problems with it. So it's sort of silly for anyone to advise you without knowing you well.

Nexus 5. It's blazing fast and 0 problems running any apps. Of course I don't game, use Facebook or much of any social stuff, or whatever else seems to cause problems for others.

There's a lot of good Android phones out. I have an LG g2 with Nova launcher on it. There's no lag and it has the best battery life that I've ever had on an Android phone.

I meant some of the animations that make the phone buggy, i don't mean the overlay of the UI. I'm not a hardcore android guy so I'm not going to buy a nexus that is light and has a "pure" android experience. I also want a phone that will be nicce tos it down and relax with. I like some of the features of the LG G2 and Samsung gs4, that make the phone funner to use.

Well i can't do that because i need a phone which has a scheduler app. Otherwise it's hard to keep track of all the places i need to be and when. I also need a phone that is fun to relax with

The one phone that goes with dirty hands from landscaping might be the Moto X and it's hands free usage. It's no fun trying to swipe and tap with muddy or gritty hands. It's also small, tough, the battery last a long time and it's super fast.

The N5 and Moto X don't have some of these extra features and they get updates a lot faster.
lies, damn lies. and a few facts.:

updates yes will come quicker with the nexus line.... maybe. google abandoned the gnex, for me after 1 update. it is expected that they will abandon the n7 2012 after 1 update. seems google places an 18 month os support life on its products. and don't tell me the gnex was a samsung issue, or a texas instrument cpu issue. the update i got came from google, not samsung. and xda has roms based on kit kat, so it is not a cpu issue. so why folks rely on this misconception seems like a nice class action if there are any lawyers out there.lol.

Ok, i've already said t-mobile does not have the moto-x, and i cam across the Xperia Z1 while on t mobiles website, what do you think? I's pretty rugged, and the main complaint i have saw about this phone is the viewing angles, which don't bother me. People haven't had that much issue with the phone in general but it would be nice to get some others opinions on it.

I highly recommend either the Moto X or the Nexus 5. Google's phones generally have the fewest issues and the fastest fixes.

I highly recommend the same. My wife has a Moto X and I have a Nexus 5. They are both lightening fast and as dependable as the sunrise.

Well T-mobile does not carry the moto x, and i am not switching carriers.

T-Mobile's doesn't have contract prices anymore, and for the most part their phones are unlocked & unbranded. They have a Moto X available, at least on Motorola's website. It's the unlocked version. In fact, that's the one I bought for my wife. We're on an AT&T MVNO, but since we were paying full price anyway I didn't see the point in buying an AT&T locked phone. The T-Mobile version is unlocked & unbranded. At the time I ordered it, Motorola had it listed as a T-Mobile phone, but since then they've changed the description to show that it's an unlocked device.

I also need good battery life and the Nexus 5 does not deliver.

The Moto X's batter life is much better. My wife once got a bit over 8 hours of screen on time on her Moto X. The Nexus 5 isn't bad in that department, but it's not great.

.
i checked out the phones available on tmobile's site. man, i'd love the z1s....but if you are looking for the rugged, don't you think the z would be better, what with the water resistance...i'm sure you sometimes get rained on, heh.

out of the phones available there, i'd vote for the z, note 3, g2, z1s in order. and i have none of them, so i guess that is my wish list in order. :)

Well I'm going by what tmo has on their website, the x1 looks nice, and is semi-rugged. I'm not going to go pay a full unlocked phone price.

Yes I didn't even realize until today that T-Mobile doesn't officially sell the Moto X. On Motorola's Motomaker website it's $399 for the unlocked version.

Ive had a s3, N4 and now a moto x on t-mobile. the S3 was a miserable experience all together. Sold it in 4 months for the N4. Nexus devices are good but even though you get instant updates they seem unstable and support is almost non existent. They require a lot of attention b/c theres always something to mess with. If your a just a regular user alot of the nexus devices abilities will go untapped...YMMV. Ive had my t-mobile version Moto X for 2 months after buying it over a nexus 5. Although im still not on the latest software version the phone has proven more stable and reliable then the nexus devices..The radios are great and i like the interface.

And i don't care about the newest android versions, I'm still rockin ICS and that's fine by me, kit-kat would be nice but jelly bean is more than enough i want a phone that works, not a phone with the newest software, and sometimes newer software has more bugs

What type of phone do you have?

Yes, you will, if you are on T-Mobile. You'll just be making payments on it over time. You can get 0% interest financing with Motorola, and they're having a special sale on the Moto X that starts next week.
