I'm trying to decide which to get. Some are saying the Gear s2 is not worth getting because it doesn't run on Android. Would I be better spending about the same amount or cheaper on a Moto than the gear s2?

Gear s2 will run on any android device 4.4 or higher

Well that all comes down to your preference... I've owned both a gear 2 and a first gen moto 360.. I actually prefer tizen to android wear the way they currently stand... And on gear s2 from what I've seen tizen looks even more improved. I'm in no way saying android wear sucks and that I would never use it again just that as they both stand I prefer Samsung take on wearable software ... That's why choice is great

With Tizen on the watch you are getting a more mature os. Samsung has had a lot more time to work out the kinks than android wear which is newer.

But look how often Samsung makes updates to their watches. I have a Gear S, Gear Fit, and had Gear, and Gear 2. You better be happy with it out of the box because updates don't really happen. It's like Samsung makes it, then abandons it.

Couldn't agree more!!

I wish AC would remind people of this. While the S2 is great, I wouldn't expect any new apps either. The devs will have apps for launch, but noone new. I mean why should some company spend $$$ to support a watch that will sell maybe 100,000 people. Look at how little app support Windows Phone gets

I played with the new 360 at BestBuy a couple of days ago. It was nice enough, but I just cannot get past how cheesy Android wear is. It feels like a 4 year old designed it. I have a Zenwatch and while the HW is okay, the OS is awful.

And let's not pretend that our Smart watches are going to be some great app platforms either. These are the early days. Even on the AppleWatch, few folks find many apps compelling.

I am picking up a Gear S2 today. For $299 it's a better deal than the Moto 360 given how many more features it has.
