moto 360 battery life after update

I did that yesterday. It fixed the battery monitor and storage that weren't showing up.

Great, that is a good start

But battery performance seems to stay under the 15 hours with notification and ambient light off.

Did you keep all the other settings stock and make sure all Wear watch apps you installed were removed?

I'm testing today again and see how it goes.

Good. 15 hours is way too short... even for someone with numerous notifications per day. I do think one variable is how often the watch thinks you are looking at the screen and wakes up.... it is entirely dependent on how the user moves their hand/arm during the day.... and I bet that varies wildly from person to person. Once nice thing people can now try as a test is the Theater Mode! It will make the watch less of a watch, but it will completely prevent the watch from waking with movement and THAT can be a great test to see if perhaps it is part of the issue.

It's been already 2.5 hours and I'm down to 85% Battery is going fine quick. Have a look at the wear app prediction of battery life.

It is nice that they added a battery stats to Wear devices, but I *hate* what they did with Android 5 in that function. Case in point- look at your stats, they only add up to 24%. So what accounts for the other 28% of your battery use? That is more than HALF! I have the exact same issue on my phone and tablet with 5.0. Not only do I hate the way they changed the percentages to be of TOTAL power instead of total power USED, but nothing seems accurate anymore :(

I deleted all except the speed watch face which I bought and didn't want to loose. But you think that would affect the battery to be completely bad?
The 5.01 update didn't do good to mine, I think.

I don't think it adds up to the total used. Have a look here of all pats that are using the battery

For the last two days, I have been using theater mode while I'm driving. My watch face would come on quite often while I was turning the steering wheel or moving my hand from the armrest to my lap or other random movement while driving. I also left used theater mode last night when I went out with some friends for some dinner, drinks and dancing for about 6 hours. I am at 35 hours and I still have 17% battery left now. I really like the theater mode, it has added an option for situations like these and has added several hours to my usage time.

Oh yes, most certainly it is possible. Even a single misprogrammed app can cause havoc, unfortunately. But if you bought the app through the Play Store, you shouldn't lose it, it will remember you bought it and allow you to install it again later.

Exactly. It never adds up now... never even CLOSE. Not on ANY type of device that has 5.X. That is the root of my disgust with the changes made to the battery monitoring stuff.

Ok. I will try a new charge and if it still does not perform well I will try reset again.

What about charging. On the manual it says the little charging light goes off when fully charged. But right now it's showing 100% and the little light is on. Should I just leave until the while charging light on the cradle turns off?
Before I was removing when I saw 100% on the watch.

Just make sure to follow all the steps... don't just perform a reset.

Fascinating!!! I never even noticed there was a charging light until you said something today! It is super tiny and not visible from above. Mine is on the charger now at 100% and the light is white... so whatever that means. I don't remove the watch from the charger unless I am wearing it, which is every business day (all day and through to bed) and on weekends if I am leaving the hours (if it goes on, I don't take it off).

I've left well over 2 hours and the little light never went off. Now it doesn't make sense if it's written on the Motorola website but it doesn't happen.

Like I said in my posting- the light never goes off. I think it just indicates it has a device connected. I think the manual is wrong, especially if someone else chimes in with even more confirmation.

I just used for 3 hours and only went down to 95%. So leaving it charging an extra hour after 100% does seem to have improved. According to the prediction curve on the android wear app, it is ficing me 2 full days. Let see how much will actually last.

Today I'm getting really bad prediction.
But the other charge I got about 38 hours. Now it's saying only 5 hours!

You are correct, it doesn't turn off as long as watch is docked.
