Moto 360 Disable screen while charging?

Fix for this i beleive. U have to go under settings-i think...then developer options...u have to tap the developer options 5 time to unlock it. Then...it will give u an option to turn on or off screen while charging. Also some debugging stuff...Dont remember exactly where developer optiins are...but i think settings. Let me know if this works...

Correction-on ur watch go to settings...then "about"...then find build number...tap it 7 times. U will unlock the developer options. Swipe right to go back one...then go under developer options...then hit the screen on/off while charging. Should work.

i just tested this out, and unfortunately it does not turn the screen off with the setting "stay awake when charging" disabled

I was having the same problem. But just now searching through the app's settings, I saw the "silence connected phone" setting was set to "phone and watch." I changed this to "watch only," and the watch (which was sitting in the cradle) went off. And I didn't change any other settings for a couple minutes, so I lean toward it being a glitch and not a coincidence.

I was having the same problem. with ambient mode turned off on KGW42N the screen would still stay on when charging.

I figured it out. if you turn ambient mode off via the watch then it will be off on your wrist but on when on charge. Now if you toggle the setting via the android wear app on the phone the display turns off when charging. try it yourself when it is on the charger next time and see it in action.

Charges so so much faster now!!!

Same behavior here on KGW42N. I always have ambient off via both the watch menu and phone menu. But when, via the phone, I turned ambient on and then off again (with watch charging) the watch display turned off. However, toggling again keeps the screen on. Almost certainly a glitch since it is undocumented.

The screen will turn off until it's taken off the charger, screen is tapped, or button is pushed.

Thank you! It works for me but... I have to do that everyday, each time I want to charge... :-s

Please note that there is no "always on" mode anymore. Motorola removed that with later updates. Now there is just "ambient mode" and that is not an always on mode- it is just a more "lax" mode that will wake up the watch with less provocation, and add one more level of display before going into standby (a dim black and white with no animation). The lack of options and settings is a bit annoying.

I just use the app to turn on ambient, wait for the dim then turn it off. Takes all of 5 seconds. Do it once a day. I don't see what all the fuss is about

Huh? My 360 is updated to the latest software, and when I turn ambient mode off, the screen turns off after being on the charger for a few seconds. I have been purposely turning on ambient mode before I go to bed just because I like the clock to stay on at my bedside.

Odd... as my MOTO360 is using the current update and while in the cradle, it continuously shows the time and the charge rate. I cannot turn it off. Ambient is OFF by the way.

Odd I have to put ambient on for it to stay on otherwise it is off and still charging.

The screen will turn off until it's taken off the charger, screen is tapped, or button is pushed.

I've doing this for a week or so now and it does work. A few times though I've done this and woken up to have the screen on and battery at 100%.

I stumbled upon another easy way to do this that i don't think anyone has mentioned yet and I haven't had the screen come on once. It doesn't require you to install the app mentioned earlier or go into the android wear settings and toggle the ambient mode on then off. I'm not sure if all these steps are required.

1. Ambient mode is off by default.
2. Place watch on charger.
3. The charge screen comes on bright and then dims.
4. Press the side button, now in the 12 o'clock position, and the screen turns off.

Sometimes pushing the button will make the screen turn bright again and I have to push it more than once. Repeatedly pushing the button seems to toggle between bright, dim, and off.

Hope it works for you too!

I don't care/want to turn off the screen, but I tried your method as an experiment and I cannot replicate that behavior. No amount of pressing the button and waiting, trying rapidly, trying in twos, etc, will make the screen go off.

Interesting. I'll post a video tomorrow.

From what I observed, pressing the button while the watch is charging turns the screen off only in dim light. When the light is bright, my screen would always stay on (I have ambient mode off), but when the watch is in a dark room, pressing the button does turn the screen off. The last software update on my watch was over a week ago.

It is interesting that no one seems to be able to replicate anyone else's experience but I will add mine to the mix. When I put the watch in the cradle with the button side up, the watch screen stays lit in a dim state. When I put the watch in with the button side down, the screen will dim and then blacken. I have to be careful not to touch the screen when placing the watch in with the button side down because if the screen is touched, it will bring the display back on.
