With the release of the Charge and X2, before it, and maybe more coming out taking up some of the market share from the Bionic, Moto aint scared are they?

It gets me to thinking Verizon will not release models within 14 days of each other to avoid the upgrade returns for newer models.

The Bionic will most likely debut with a $349.99 price to see who is drunk.

Motorla is dying. Their stock are constantly dropping.

It dropped like 33% within 4months. That is insane. They will probably be bought out or go bankrupt. TYhey make quality products but the company itself is unreliable. Im just hoping they can atleast stay up till the end of the year, so i can get icecream with my bionic.

Most people are clueless after they get their phones. I can't tell you how many people really do not care or even know when something "better" comes out or is about to come out.

This whole thing about cannibalizing sales of one unit over another and staggering this over that is non-sense. Majority of users have no clue whats what. Sell them a good phone that works and they are good to go. Dual-core, Quad-core, Single Core, RAM this RAM that. They have no idea. I'm not saying they are stupid I'm just saying they could care less.

What "normal" person spends their free time on forums other than the technologically insane? :) We are the minority

I think you have some ground there but in my opinion, those "normal" people who have upgrades dont know what's coming out next nor do they probably care. They have an upgrade available, they walk in the store and see a "4G" phone is available, they buy it. The Bionic comes out in a few months but all those people who have already upgraded won't rush out and buy it full price because as you said, they don't care. I think Moto has to be a little scared because a lot of the charge/tb sales could have been to them. Instead there is us, the small minority, who is waiting for the Bionic and we'll buy it...but unless the "normal" people have an upgrade..who will?

Dying? Uh, no. Not in the slightest.

Got some cognac for my birthday, he he, anyway, tech stock always ebbs, just get in before it does. Moto has my minority in the bank. I have found no other device capable radio wise, battery wise, and as reliable. Moto nexus will be epic. I like the charge, but it is ugly with those vulcan bottom buttons. Anyone using android better bring something to the table, the comp is fierce.

In some of the jobs I have had there has been lots of experience with communication devices of all kinds from Wallkie-Talkie's to cell phones and when they hand me a Motorola I know it will take harsh handling and be reliable.

So........... I hope Motorola does not go under.

I don't know if scared is the right word. But I'm sure they've lost quite a bit of money with the Bionic. They may make some of it up once it's released but it'll be much less considering the issues (delay and redesign resulting in lost development costs and market share).

The sad part is, they've spent all this money on the Bionic so far, and the redesign, but if they don't get it to market within a month or so, they won't make much back. Every day people like us get sick of waiting and get something else, and every day longer is another day that a "normal" customer walks in and doesn't see this, but picks something else. The specs will no longer be the best around, unless it has OMAP 4, but it still needs to be out yesterday to have any time in the sun. I don't see how Moto can expect to turn a profit off of this in the long run if this thing doesn't launch by the end of June.

It's a Droid and will be supported well by Verizon marketing-wise. Depending on their specific arrangement, I could see the failure of the 'original' triggering an even more extensive campaign on Verizon's part to ensure that the costs are recouped.

Yes, but that's part of the problem. If there was no failure to begin with and the device was already out, then they don't lose nearly as much in development costs and market share. To get a true gauge on what Moto has lost in this, I think you have to compare the "no problem" situation to the current situation, not the failed situation to the current situation.

VZW is launching x2, Sony xperia play, and LG revolution over next week or so and they just dropped the charge and dinc2. They will get some space before bionic drops. But you also have to look at all the LTE markets that they are lighting up and ATT starting to deploy LTE. So they want 5 devices in market asap as that was what they promised. So I think end of june still.

I'd think they would want something out to counter the EVO 3D.

You missed the point in my comment; Motorola likely won't lose anything. Verizon will do what it takes to ensure that the handset is a success.

If BMX's tweet turns out to be about the Bionic, then indeed they will make a KILLING. Its crucial that Moto makes as much out of this as they can, making a clear world-beating device as their next flagship is the only way to turn their slide around, build their stock back up, and get back on their feet. If the Bionic ends up having an OMAP 4, especially the 1.5Ghz 4440, the device will be just that.

This never-ending spec-speculation game (haha) is really starting to wear me down, though. Crazy how majorly it changes my opinions or thoughts just based on one little possible spec leak, or the lack thereof...

No, I didn't miss it. I know VZW will do all they can. But, I think it's quite an uphill battle when compared to maybe what they could have had if there were no issues and it was already released as spec'd at CES. Much of that too will depend on how "improved" the Bionic will actually be.

I am a firm believer things happen for a reason and yes it sucks to wait but the failure of the etna opened the doors to something better (Targa). Especially if the tweeted specs are from the bionic test handset he requested last week in a post he made (which I believe they are).
