Moto Assist Pronunciations

Hi All!

Obligatory first post note I just got my Turbo 2 on Saturday, an upgrade from the Mini which bit the dust on Friday. I'm wondering if anyone has had any issues with the pronunciations out of Moto Assist? It sounds like the same voice my Mini used, but I'm baffled that the T2 cannot pronounce "Oscar" when my Mini could (I mean, it's not a complicated name, right?) It's just seems weird to me to hear the T2 say "Oooooh-scar sent you a text message."

Are there any options I can play with to see if it can get this right or maybe other voices I can try out?

Thanks for all of the great information in this forum, I've found a bunch of features and settings I needed to tweak!

Welcome, I do not believe there is an option to adjust the way T2 pronounces a word. There are voice packs that can change the accent. I changed mine to a British accent. For the life of me I don't remeber how i did it. I will keep looking

Try going into Oscar's contact info. On the edit page you can put in a phonetic name. Maybe try Ahscar. I have never used it so not sure if this works.

The other accents on in Settings - Language and Input - Text to speech output - press the settings icon next to Google text to speech engine - install voice data.
