Moto G as iPod Touch?

So can I buy an unlocked Moto G and use it as an iPod Touch? By that, I mean WiFi only. I would not put a Sim card in it. Can you do this?

If it's unlocked you should be able to. I'm still using my Nexus 5 as a mini tablet, without a carrier yet.
