Moto G g4 won't factory reset.

I get to the recovery option, select recovery, at the moto screen I hold the up arrow for 3 seconds, then hold the power button. It comes up as "no command". I get no menu with factory reset. Need to factory reset so I can give the phone away.

Proper procedure to factory reset is through settings, through recovery your account still associated with it .

Also, the No Command screen means that to proceed further, you have to give a command. Press and hold Volume Up and press Power once - or it may be the other way round. Anyway, it's something like that. That leads to the commands.

Ah thanks, I missed that. Totally agree with you about using the option in the system settings!
