I would get the note 2 for the camera and expandable storage. You can put vanilla android on it through rooting if you want the snappy performance.

That;s contradictory. S-Pen features and apps are proprietary. AOSP is open source. If you want to use SPen you should stick with stock, you could root and debloat the phone by deleting unneeded apps.
